I thought about stir frying beef and onions (using my Mom’s recipe), but had Gailan (Chinese Broccoli) in the fridge and didn’t want them to go bad, so using the same marinate as the onion beef, this turned out quite well also.
Marinate:
2 T soysauce
1t olive oil
a dash of pepper
1t rice wine
1/2 t corn starch
1 pound beef, cut into small pieces
1 bunch of Chinese Broccoli
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 T olive oil for stir fry
3 T chicken stock
1-2 T oyster sauce
Marinate beef for 20-30 minutes, clean Chinese broccoli and cut into 2 inch pieces. Heat up oil, stir in garlic until fragrant, add in marinated beef and stir fry until 80% done, take them out and put aside. Add in the Chinese Broccoli, and chicken stock, cover for about 3 minutes, stir a bit, then cover (until tender). Stir the beef back in, add oyster sauce, and cook until beef is cooked through. voila!
