Had a bunch of leftover from Sunday night, but decided to make a new dish anyway. Hubby suggested the Hawaiian garlic shrimp recipe he stumbled upon on YouTube a couple weeks back, so here it is!
1 pound of large shrimp, peeled but leave the tail
1 head of garlic, roughed chopped (about 10-15 cloves)
1/2 butter (melted)
1 cup of flour
2 T of Paprika
1/2-1 t of cayenne pepper
1/8 cup of white wine (I used rice wine)
1/2-1 t of salt
Heat up the pan, pour in melted butter, stir in chopped garlic, stir until fragrant. Mix flour, Paprika and cayenne pepper in a large bowl, dip each shrimp in before putting them into the butter and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes, then flip to the other side for another 3 minutes. Add the white wine and sprinkle salt on top, adjust according to your taste.
Note: I noticed the butter flavor was real strong, maybe even a bit too overwhelming for me. Though the family loved it. Next time I would probably use the same flour mixture but fry the shrimp in olive oil instead, a healthier alternative also!
