Hubby went to San Fransisco this year with a couple of his buds, they had the pleasure of eating some authentic Japanese hot pot. As soon as he came back to Houston, there has been a lot of mentioning of fish balls, and not just any fish balls, theses have stuffing in them. Well we went to a new Chinese market and actually found them, so here is a simple soup to accommodate the already flavorful fish balls.
Ingredients:
1 package of stuffed fish balls (I know this sounds funny!)
1 bunch of green vegetable ( I used spinach), wash and cut into sections
1 T dried shrimp
2 cloves of garlic
1 can of chicken broth
2-3 cups of water
1 T fish sauce
2 t olive oil
Heat up the oil in a soup pot, toss in garlic and dried shrimp, stir around until fragrant.
Add the chicken broth and water, wait until boil then add the vegetable in, when they start to welt, add the fish balls and fish sauce, boil for 5 minutes and it’s ready to be served!
